Three Deer Lane

Sheridan, OR

Located in Sheridan, Oregon the home is for a web designer, wife and two kids. Three Deer Lane consists of an interesting landscape that has been slowly carved out over the years which allows a home to sit tucked in-between the trees.

The densely forested site creates an opportunity that enables a long term sustainability design and also providing comfort and pleasure within the land. The home was made up of insulated concrete forms for exterior walls, sitting above a continuous concrete slab and carved in the hill of the existing sloped terrain with a retaining wall along the rear of the house.

A south-facing living space captures the sun and shadows in the forest . Using the overhang of the roof to allow sun in the winter and shade in the summer. The subtle design allows opportunity for the budget to be applied on sustainability with materials, window choices, heating and cooling. the insulated concrete forms allow this to happen with straight forwardness yet innovated material.
